Metal Corrosion Inhibiter for Methanol Gasoline
I. Product introduction:
This product is mainly used to suppress the corrosion on metals by all models of methanol gasoline during application. Methanol gasoline has substantial polar groups and simultaneously substantial unstable components such as olefin, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, sulphor oxides and other non-hydrocarbon compounds, which will cause severe corrosion to the metallic matrix so that the color of the gasoline deepens as the time of storage extends. This product is an efficient gasoline additive with strong activity and stability. It can develop perfect corrosion resistant and protective film on the surface of metals to prevent the corrosion to metals by corrosive substances within the gasoline, to improve the quality of gasoline and prolong the service life of the equipment.
II. Product characteristics:
1. This additive adopts the approach of metal surface passivation to improve the metal corrosion resistance effect in multiples. This is because dual groups of both oleophilic non-polar groups and alcohol-philic polar groups exist within the structure of the components of the formula, where the alkyl can react strongly with the metal surface to develop a firm film of oil absorption whereas the hydroxide radical can connect with methanol on a soluble basis, and thus it can separate the contact of methanol and metals to avoid the corrosion of methanol to the metals. Such approach of developing a oil film on the metal surface is called passivation, which is naturally developed by methanol gasoline during circulation, and can passivate the metal surface at normal temperature by developing a firm protective film to effectively prevent the corrosion of ion.
2. As regards the metal corrosion resistance, the general metal corrosion inhibiter, with effects evolving from monopoly to comprehensiveness, works excellently for red copper, well for aluminum and brass, but poorly for copper No. 45 and vaporizer materials. This product has good corrosion resistance for multiple metals, including copper, aluminum, copper No. 45, zinc and vaporizer materials, and has excellent intermiscibility for methanol gasoline.
3. It prompts the improvement of gasoline quality of methanol gasoline to some extent. Because the components contain effective elements contributing to the improvement of gasoline quality of methanol gasoline, such as fatty alcohol, surfactant and rust protection agent, these components have double groups soluble in both gasoline and methanol and thus further contribute to the solution and stabilize the effect. At the meanwhile, the formula, free from strong acid and base elements, will not destroy the acid-base equilibrium of the gasoline.
